Dear Partner and Friend,

Everyday we strive to establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders in order to advance our mission to empower the most marginalized and vulnerable women in the community socio-economically in terms of health. To this end our Kilifi project assistant, paid a courtesy call to the office of the Deputy Governor and here’s a recount of the meeting and key talking points as narrated by the office of the Excellence Deputy Governor.

Establishing a sustainable heathcare system that guarantees the availability, accessibility, and affordability of medical services to all the great people of Kilifi remains the primier priority of the administration of H.E Gideon Maitha Mung’aro.

We are progressively engaging institutions and organizations of goodwill in this endeavour. One such organisation is Women and Development Against Distress In Africa (WADADIA), led by Ms Habiba Mohamad who is the Founder and Director of the women-led non-profit organization that empowers marginalized women and girls to advocate for their biopsychosocial health and socio-economic rights.

Earlier today, I held a meeting with the WAWADIA Program Assistant- Kilifi County Ms. Selina Wamwee, who paid a courtesy call to my office during which we discussed WADADIA’s partnership with Fistula Foundation to provide life-transforming surgery to women suffering with obstetric fistula in Kilifi County.

Kilifi County Government commends the efforts of WADADIA in our communities, particularly its program on empowering women recovering from fistula with skills such as dressmaking and hairdressing through Vocational Skills Training, and assures its leadership of our continued availability and commitment to our joint drive in the transformation of the lives of women with fistula.
