WADADIA Partners with Marafa Sub-County Hospital to Expand Community Awareness on Obstetric Fistula.

Access to quality healthcare begins with access to accurate information.

As part of its commitment to ensuring no woman suffers in silence, WADADIA, through the HER Dignity Programme, partnered with Marafa Sub-County Hospital to conduct a community outreach aimed at increasing awareness on obstetric fistula, childbirth injuries, and available treatment services.

The outreach reached patients, caregivers, and visitors in the hospital wards before extending to the Outpatient Department (OPD), providing an opportunity to engage directly with members of the community seeking healthcare services.

During the sessions, the WADADIA team educated participants on the signs and symptoms of obstetric fistula and other childbirth-related complications, emphasized the importance of early screening and referral, and shared information on free treatment opportunities available through WADADIA and its network of partner hospitals.

These outreach initiatives are a cornerstone of WADADIA’s HER Dignity Programme, which is rooted in the belief that every woman deserves dignity, healing, and the opportunity to thrive. By working closely with county health facilities, community health promoters, and referral hospitals, WADADIA is strengthening referral pathways and ensuring women receive timely, holistic care.

WADADIA extends its appreciation to Marafa Sub-County Hospital for the collaboration and shared commitment to improving women’s health. Together, we are building stronger community health systems and bringing life-changing care closer to the women who need it most.

Every outreach creates awareness. Every referral creates hope. Every woman reached is one step closer to restored dignity. 💜
