Happy Monday fam.
Meet Margaret, a resilient woman from Kilifi who has battled the effects of obstetric fistula since 2017. When she went into labor, financial struggles prevented her from traveling to a hospital. She endured a painful, prolonged delivery that changed her life forever.

With no support from loved ones and a failing business, Margaret withdrew from social life, unable to even attend the mosque. Her husband abandoned her, leaving her to face the stigma and isolation alone.
But hope found her. In August 2024, her relative told her about WADADIA’s first free surgical in-reach effort. Margaret underwent a successful repair surgery, and today, her smile reaches her eyes, she is laughing again, full of life and hope.
Her transformation is one of many made possible by the WADADIA-Habibat Mother and Child Holistic Health and Training Hospital, our sister facility launched in 2024. The hospital continues to be a beacon of hope, providing free surgical repairs to hundreds of women suffering from childbirth injuries and restoring dignity to thousands more across the region.

Margaret’s story speaks to the power of healing, dignity, and second chances.
