WADADIA Joins Partners in Disability Inclusion and Rehabilitation Planning — Malindi Workshop, November 2025

On November 1, 2025, WADADIA took part in the Kilifi County Disability Inclusion and Rehabilitation Workshop held in Malindi, convened by the County Disability Office in collaboration with national and local partners.

The forum aimed to strengthen coordination among rehabilitation and disability service actors, identify existing gaps, and develop an inclusive framework for integrating disability into health and social programs.

Participants included representatives from government departments, civil society, organizations of persons with disabilities, and community-based institutions. Together, they conducted a SWOT analysis of disability services in Kilifi County, developed a directory of rehabilitation actors, and established a coordination group to enhance information sharing and joint planning.

WADADIA contributed insights from its experience in women’s health, psychosocial care, and community reintegration programs — underscoring the importance of ensuring that women and girls with disabilities are not left behind in access to healthcare and empowerment opportunities.

“Inclusion begins with understanding. Listening to persons with disabilities and acting on their priorities is how we build equitable systems,” shared WADADIA’s representative at the event.

The workshop concluded with a call to action for all stakeholders to embed disability inclusion across program design, infrastructure, communication, and service delivery.
