WADADIA Joins National Campaign to End Obstetric Fistula: IDEOF 2025.

WADADIA is proud to join hands with the Ministry of Health (MOH-Kenya) and strategic partners — UNFPA Kenya, Amref Health Africa, Jhpiego, Beyond Zero, and MPESA Foundation — in commemorating this year’s International Day to End Obstetric Fistula (IDEOF) under the powerful theme:
“Her Health, Her Right – Shaping a Future Without Fistula.”

Obstetric fistula is a devastating and preventable childbirth injury that leaves women incontinent and often shunned by their families and communities. For many survivors, it represents years of silent suffering, stigma, and social isolation.

At WADADIA, we believe no woman should be left behind. That’s why we are deeply committed to supporting this national fistula campaign, which is not only restoring women’s health but also rebuilding their confidence, dignity, and place in society.

Nationwide Free Fistula Screening & Surgical Repair

In alignment with MOH and our partners, we are supporting a FREE obstetric fistula screening and surgical repair campaign across selected counties, with a focus on:

Kisii Teaching & Referral Hospital (Main camp)

Nyamache Subcounty Hospital

Iranda Subcounty Hospital

Gucha Subcounty Hospital

Dates: May 17–23, 2025
Main Celebration Day: May 23, 2025, at Kisii Teaching & Referral Hospital

Why This Matters

Every fistula repair is more than a surgery — it is a chance at a new life. This campaign will:

Provide free medical intervention for women and girls suffering from obstetric fistula

Raise national awareness of fistula prevention, treatment, and social reintegration

Mobilize communities to break the silence and stigma

Affirm the government and partners’ unwavering commitment to maternal health equity
