She Came to Check on a Patient. Then She Checked on the People Caring for Her
A medical camp is measured not only by the procedures performed or the number of patients reached. It is also measured by the quality of care, teamwork and humanity that patients experience throughout their journey.
During the WADADIA-Habibat Mother and Child Hospital medical camp, our Founder took a moment to check on a patient while also checking in with the nurses caring for patients throughout the camp.
It was a simple interaction, but one that reflects an important part of our approach to healthcare leadership: being present where care is happening.
Medical camps create an important opportunity to bring specialised healthcare closer to communities and make services more accessible to patients and families who may otherwise face barriers to receiving the care they need.
Yet behind every patient is a team.

Nurses work long hours monitoring patients and supporting families. Clinicians bring their expertise and judgement to every case. Support teams ensure that the camp functions effectively. Together, they create the environment in which patients can receive care safely and with dignity.
That is why the wellbeing of healthcare workers cannot be an afterthought.
You cannot build compassionate healthcare while overlooking the people who deliver it.
A leader checking in with a nurse may seem like a small gesture, but these moments matter. They create space for healthcare workers to feel seen, heard and supported, while reinforcing a culture of teamwork and shared responsibility.
At WADADIA-Habibat Mother and Child Hospital, our commitment extends beyond providing medical services. We are working towards a healthcare environment where patients and families receive dignified care and where the professionals delivering that care are equally valued.
Because healthcare is ultimately about people.
The patient matters.
The family matters.
The nurse matters.
The clinician matters.
The caregiver matters.
And when we care for the people who care for others, we strengthen the care given to every patient.
WADADIA-Habibat Mother and Child Hospital — healing, empowering and restoring dignity.
