Putting Patients at the Core: A Day with Our Founder
At WADADIA, women’s safety, healing, and dignity shape everything we do. Yesterday was a powerful reminder of why we exist, as our Founder and Lead Director spent the day surrounded by the very women whose lives our mission touches.

The afternoon began in the post-surgery support group, where women recovering from free reconstructive repairs shared their stories years of silent suffering, the emotional and physical toll of childbirth injuries, and the courage it took to come forward for help. Now, with their dignity restored, their voices carried a new tone hope.
Many expressed deep gratitude, some with tears, others with laughter. In an unforgettable moment, the group broke into song for our Founder, celebrating her for listening deeply, leading with empathy, and ensuring every woman feels seen and valued. Several boldly declared they would return to their communities as ambassadors of hope, guiding other women to access the same life-changing care.
From there, she walked to the theatre, where she spent time with our expert surgical team Dr. Anthony Wanjala, Dr. Daniel Oluach, and Dr. John Omboga sharing light moments, checking in on patients awaiting surgery, and reaffirming that quality, safe care remains our unwavering standard.
We are firmly on track to our ambitious goal: providing free, high-quality reconstructive surgeries to 300 women by the end of 2025. Every story, every smile, every restored life moves us closer.
