Midweek Journey with the visiting team from ARENA – Association Renaissance / Burkina Faso.

It has been such a joy having the ARENA team join us in our day-to-day activities, walking alongside our staff, engaging with key stakeholders, and most importantly, meeting our project beneficiaries to see firsthand how our work is transforming lives.

Wednesday was a day full of learning and connection. The team:

Met with community health promoters in Mt. Elgon, unsung heroes at the grassroots who play a critical role in advancing community health. Together, we explored how collaboration and reporting structures ensure accountability and impact.

Joined a support group ( a team of sisterhood-Women on a similar healing journey) session where fistula survivors shared their journeys of healing, encouraged one another, and participated in income-generating activities designed to build financial independence.

Thursday took the team to West Pokot County, where they:

Met our dedicated WADADIA field team and observed our client follow-up process, that ensures continuity of care and support.

👩🏾‍🤝‍👩🏾 Listened to the progress stories of survivors whose courage and resilience continue to inspire us.

Witnessed an outreach in Serewa, where collaboration shone bright, with local administration, teachers, and fistula survivors-turned-advocates coming together to deliver psycho-education and raise awareness. on obstetric fistula and spreading awareness about the availability of treatment.

Visited two thriving fistula survivors, Delphine and Evelyn, whose reintegration journeys have blossomed into successful tailoring and agriculture businesses, empowering them to be financially independent and respected contributors in their communities.

At Women And Development Against Distress In Africa(WADADIA), we are deeply grateful for organizations like ARENA who, just like us, are committed to empowering marginalized women and ensuring that no one is left behind.
