Day 1 of the Surgical Camp: Empowering Health, Restoring Dignity

Today, we kicked off our training, screening, psychoeducation, and surgical bookings, a crucial step in ensuring women with childbirth injuries and other neglected conditions receive the care they deserve.

Training: Our clinical team, led by obstetric gynecologists and fistula surgeons Dr. Wanjala & Dr. Oluoch, engaged in hands-on sessions covering:

Physical screening & post-operative care

Family planning & infection prevention

Surgical safety, pelvic floor injuries & back prolapse

Screening & Psychoeducation: Women received thorough medical evaluations, guidance on their conditions, and counseling to help them understand treatment options.

Surgical Bookings: Those in need of specialized surgical repairs were scheduled for life-changing procedures in the coming days.
