Care That Reaches Where Roads End.
As the festive season approaches, many families gather in comfort and celebration. Yet for women in remote, hard-to-reach areas, healing and hope often require extraordinary effort.
Hageyo Kone Dhara, 75, from Chakama–Bombi area, is one such woman. Married at a young age, she gave birth to 13 children at home and lived with vesicovaginal and rectovaginal fistula for more than 60 years. In her dry, pastoralist community, where healthcare access is limited and stigma is high, Hageyo endured isolation, humiliation, and pain in silence.

After the death of her husband, she migrated from Tana River, carrying a lifetime of untreated suffering.
At WADADIA, surgery is only the beginning of healing.
Our nurses, psychosocial support team, and economic empowerment lead walk closely with women like Hageyo, conducting field follow-ups, staying in touch, identifying evolving needs, and ensuring survivors receive emotional, social, and practical support long after treatment.
This is what women-centred, holistic care looks like:
• Consistent follow-up in hard-to-reach areas
• Psychosocial support that restores confidence and belonging
• Economic empowerment pathways that support reintegration
• A commitment that places survivor wellbeing at the centre
🌿 Her wellbeing is our top priority. Always.
This festive season, your support ensures WADADIA can continue reaching women where healthcare rarely goes—restoring dignity, hope, and life.
