Woman Crush Wednesday: Meet Dr. Maureen Okango – Healing Women, One Surgery at a Time.
In exactly one month, on May 23rd 2025, the world will mark the International Day to End Obstetric Fistula (IDEOF), a day to raise awareness, drive action, and honor the journey of women affected by fistula.
As we count down to IDEOF, we pause to reflect on the quiet forces behind our progress. Real change doesn’t happen overnight ,it’s built by those who show up, again and again, often without applause.

This month, we shine a light on our Hummingbirds, the health providers, partners, and WADADIA allies who carry hope in both small and big ways. They are the silent heroes of this movement, reminding us that no act of service is ever too small when it comes to restoring dignity and hope.
This season and in the next couple of weeks we will be highlighting our hummingbirds.
