Making therapy and Psychosocial support more accessible to young girls in the country.
An exciting development in our fight against gender-based violence.
#16DaysOfActivismAgainstGenderBasedViolence
Our very own Psychosocial Support Officers Edwin Ogoma and Seline Selly joined the inaugural S.H.E Summit in Kilifi County, as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.
This event focused on empowering girls with knowledge about sexual and reproductive health. It brought together key stakeholders including Kilifi’s Gender, Sports, and Culture Department, as well as organizations like Binti Pwani Cluster, Nia Impact, SHOFOCO Youth Voices & Action Initiative (YVAI), and the Kenya-Finland Bilateral Program.

Sharing more on what made the summit truly special, Seline notes that for the first time ever, psychosocial support (PSS) was a core feature! ![]()
The duo received over 500 anonymous questions from young girls, clearly showing how critical accessible therapy and emotional support are in communities.
The summit reinforced the importance of listening to girls, addressing their needs, and building a future where they can thrive.
