16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence

🗣 Break the silence and take a stand! 📢Every day is a step closer to a violence-free future

Today marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence-a global campaign to end violence against women and girls.

Every day we witness rising cases of gender-based violence (GBV) as femicide continues to rob countless women and girls of their safety, dignity, and lives. All these injustices demand urgent action.

At Women And Development Against Distress In Africa(WADADIA) we work to address health equity and violence by focusing on:

• Violence prevention and response

• Empowering and educating adolescent girls and young women, adolescent boys and young men, and their communities

• Improving access to health services that are uniquely tailored to the needs of adolescents

We implement post-violence clinical care services to ensure that survivors of violence receive trauma-informed care. The care includes post-exposure prophylaxis to prevent HIV, HIV testing and counseling, and referrals to necessary services to further prevent violence
